NGC Marine-Supplied CPP System for Firefighting and Oil Spill Recovery Vessel After Successfully Sea Truaks

On April 21, 2025, the Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) system supplied by Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. (NGC Marine) for MV. QIHANG 19 firefighting and oil spill recovery vessel was delivered officially after successful completion of sea trials.
MV. QIHANG is multi-functional fully welded steel vessel equipped with two sets of ducted CPP System, powered by two marine diesel engines (2400kW each). With an overall length of 65.80m, a width of 16.00m, a depth of 6.00m, and a design draft of 4.50m, the vessel features world-wide voyage, firefighting, oil spill recovery, oil containment booms deployment and towing (assist large ships in berthing and unberthing operations in offshore areas). As a firefighting and oil spill recovery vessel, MV. QIHANG performs well in stability, seaworthiness and maneuverability. In any wind direction below Beaufort Force 7, it can carry out towing, pushing and traversing safely, and even in the wind of Beaufort Force 9, it can still sail safely.

The vessel adopts a twin-engine, twin-propeller configuration to supply the features of firefighting, oil spill recovery and towing, equipped with two sets of Azimuth Thruster and Tunnel Thruster system with China Classification Society (CCS) classification. NGC Marine supplied the CPP system, gearboxes, shaft generators, fire pumps, flexible couplings, hydraulic system, tunnel thrusters, and the main propulsion control system. NGC Marine-Supplied Main Propulsion Gearbox for 38,168 cubic meters Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger Successfully Passes Ship Survey and Customer Acceptance Test

On March 19, 2025, the main propulsion gearbox supplied by Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. (NGC Marine) passed the complete machine acceptance test by the China Classification Society (CCS) and was jointly approved by the Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd, Wartsila and Zhenhua Shipyard. Due to its large size, the gearbox will be shipped disassembled. By now, the painting and packaging have been completed and ready for delivery to the shipyard in the coming days.

The gearbox will be installed on the Tongjun, a 38,168 cubic meters railing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) under construction for the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd. Equipped with a hybrid power system, the vessel measures 195 meters in overall length, 38.5 meters in width, and 18 meters in depth. With a range of 12,000 nautical miles and 25 days of endurance, it is capable of world-wide voyage and achieving a maximum dredging depth of 120 meters. Upon completion, it will rank as the largest TSHD in Asia and the third largest globally by hopper capacity.
NGC Marine independently completed the whole design and manufacture of the main propulsion gearboxes, which feature a single-input, dual-output vertical arrangement structure. On April 16, the European luxury Ro-Ro Passenger ship GNV ORION, equipped with main propulsion gearboxes supplied by Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. (NGC Marine) to KONGSBERG, was officially named and delivered. The vessel, constructed by Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited (GSI, under China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited/CSSC) for Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV), a passenger ferry operator owned by the world"s leading transport and logistics company, Mediterranean Shipping Group (MSC), marks the second delivery in a series of four vessels.

Under the contract between NGC Marine and KONGSBERG for four luxury ro-ro passenger ships, the first vessel, GNV POLARIS, was delivered in October 2024 and has been put into operation on Mediterranean routes. The newly delivered second vessel, along with the third and fourth vessels under construction, will also serve Mediterranean routes.
The vessel of GNV ORION measures 218 meters in overall length, 29.6 meters in width, and boasts a gross tonnage of 52,912 tons. It features 492 passenger cabins accommodating 1,800 passengers and a 3,100-meter vehicle lane capable of carrying over 600 cars or 200 forty-foot container trailers. With a design speed of 25 knots, the propulsion system adopts a four-engine, twin-propeller configuration, integrating two sets of KONGSBERG-supplied CPP and two sets of NGC Marine-supplied dual-engine parallel gearboxes to be powered by four Wartsila supplied main engines (10,350 kW each), ensuring a stable and reliable propulsion system.

The main propulsion gearboxes were entirely designed and manufactured by NGC Marine. In this vessel, two input diesel engines are positioned on the same side of the output shaft, and are arranged in front and behind the main engine separately. To meet such engine room layout, the gearbox utilizes a unique dual-engine parallel structure: the twin-input is integrated into a single shaft before transferring power to the propeller shaft, achieving a single-stage transmission capacity of 20,700 kW. Addressing challenges such as structural complexity, high reliability requirements, compact installation space and high integration difficulties, the technical team from NGC Marine conducted various ways including rigorous theoretical analysis, finite element simulations by CAE, and 3D modeling to validate the design. During sea trial, the gearboxes demonstrated excellent performance, meeting all specifications and earning acclaim from RINA surveyors, KONGSBERG, Wartsila and GSI.

The supply Contract for eight gearboxes across four vessels represents NGC Marine"s second collaboration with KONGSBERG on luxury ro-ro passenger ships. Based on the successful cooperation in existing projects, the third Contract for large ro-ro passenger ship propulsion gearbox is under negotiation. Successful sea trial of propulsion system provided by NGC Marine for Singapore 7500m3 LNG bunkering vessel

The propulsion system provided by Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to "NGC Marine") used for 7500 m3 LNG bunkering vessel (FueLNG Bellina) has gone through sea trial successfully and delivered to client recently. NGC Marine supplied azimuth thrusters, bow thruster, control system of thrusters and etc. key equipment for the vessel.

The vessel is designed to be 119m in length of wetted surface, 19.5m in breadth moulded, design draught at midship is 5.7 m. The vessel equipped with dual-fuel generator, full electric propulsion, two sets of 1000kw stern azimuth thrusters, one set of 400kw CPP bow thruster, designed speed is over 10kn, the thrust of single bow thruster reaches 53kN which enables a high degree of manoeuvrability. The vessel is ABS Class with APS Notation, and it"s the world"s first bunkering vessel with Smart Notation.

The vessel is Singapore"s first specially constructed LNG bunkering vessel, ordered by FueLNG, a joint venture between Keppel Offshore & Marine and Shell Eastern Petroleum, and built in Keppel Shipyard. The expert team from NGC Marine adopted advanced propeller design theory, developed high efficiency propeller especially for this project, through the verification of VIENNA MODEL BASIN LTD open water and self-propulsion test, the open water efficiency and speed are consistent with forecasted result of propeller design. For bow thruster, based on the series of hydrodynamic experimental data of bow thruster mastered, NGC Marine forecasted propeller noise and harmonic pressure amplitute during working of bow thruster successfully, which provided database for the vessel’s vibration and noise reduction. The design of control system took into account the high-speed navigation condition of the vessel and micro-adjustment conditions of LNG fuel bunkering, which provided reliable equipment guarantee for the navigation and operation of the vessel. During sea trial, the whole propulsion system ran smoothly, the steering and pitching action was smooth and reliable, the logic of control system was clear, the response was fast, the performance indicators met the design and requirements for the use of the vessel, fully reflected the strong and solid capability of bow thruster and azimuth thruster in R&D, manufacturing, quality and after-sales service.

The orders for dual-fuel vessels are growing worldwide, including many large vessels, which will create a large demand for LNG fuel, and Singapore is currently the world"s leading fuel bunkering port, with Singapore aiming to become one of the world"s leading LNG power vessel bunkering ports in the coming years, in the meanwhile, the demand for LNG bunkering vessels will grow accordingly.

Since last year, Nanjing High Accuracy Marine Equipment has been going against the market and has received bulk orders requesting rudder propulsion systems involving green energy, harbor construction, and marine ships. There have been orders for over 40 sets of rudder propulsion systems, among which 6 sets were for offshore wind power installation vessels involving green energy, 28 sets for propulsion systems of full-rotation tugboat rudders for harbor construction, 5 sets for marine ships, and 1 set each for 715th Research Institute of CSIC�?offshore comprehensive experiment facilities and rudder propulsion systems of Yangtze River entertainment ships. Currently, the 4 full sets of electric rudder propulsion systems supplied by the Company for 1,000-T wind power installation ships of CCCC Third Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. have passed the commissioning process. The 2 sets of 1,500-kW single-oar rudder propulsion systems for Tianjin Daoda’s wind power installation ships are about to be put into commission; 3 sets of full-rotation lift-type systems for Fengfan Floating Crane of CCCC Third Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. are also about to be put into commission. In recent days, the Company has received an order for a total solution electric propulsion system of a 76.8-m wind power installation ship from a Taiwanese client. This includes 2 sets of 1,300-kW single-oar rudder propulsion systems and 2 sets of 1,200-kW side propulsion system.

As for port construction, the NRP 160 rudder propulsion system deployed by Nanjing High Accuracy Marine Equipment for 3,200-horsepower full-rotation tugboats at the Port of Nantong have been used for over a year and is functioning well, breaking through the dependence on imports of core equipment for domestic ports. The NRP 180 rudder propulsion systems deployed for fire-fighting and tugging dual-purpose ships of Nanjing Tanker Corporation, CSC have been used for over six months and are functioning well. The NRP 140 rudder propulsion systems deployed for recovery ships of spilled oil at the Port of Yantai were also put into commission and received high praise from customers. Recently, Nanjing High Accuracy Marine Equipment has received an order requesting rudder propulsion systems of two full-rotation tugboats from the Port of Fuxing in Shanghai, including one plan detailing propulsion systems of hybrid rudders. The application of a propulsion system of a hybrid rudder is a first for tugboats of ports.
As for rudder maintenance and the supply of spare parts for the same type of products abroad, Nanjing High Accuracy Marine Equipment successfully repaired 2 sets of US1401 rudder propulsion systems of Rolls-Royce at the Port of Fuxing and the Port of Yantai, 1 set of US 205 rudder propulsion systems at the Port of Nanjing, and Schottel SRP 1010 rudder propulsion systems used by the military. The propulsion systems saved lots of time for users with guaranteed performance and have been used for nearly six months upon repair. They were functioning well and highly appraised. Nanjing High Accuracy Marine Equipment has the ability to repair and maintain various types of foreign rudder propulsion systems.

As for marine ships, while international crude oil prices are plummeting and the global market demand for the marine engineering equipment is largely shrinking, the rudder equipment of Nanjing High Accuracy Marine Equipment has nevertheless been successfully applied to several marine platforms. Moreover, the Company has recently received five orders requesting total plans regarding propulsion systems for the marine platform, including three from Hong Kong Huachen (Group) Co., Ltd., and two from Tianjin De-sail Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd.

They have passed provincial technical appraisal and are able to totally replace imported equipment of the same type with their performance reaching domestic advanced level. They have become New High-tech Technical Products of Jiangsu Province. The trial voyage of the fixed pitch propeller system for the asphalt tanker of 37,000 DWT of AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. provided by Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. (Nanjing High Accurate), a subsidiary of NGC Marine Group, was successfully held recently. Nanjing High Accurate received positive recognition from the ship owner and shipyard for the steady operation of shafting and propellers and other successes matched to the ship with follow-up orders placed for the project, which further consolidated the long-term partnership with the shipyard.

The asphalt tanker of 37,000 DWT is 180m in length and 30.6m in width with a designed velocity of 14kn. The ship is the world’s largest asphalt tanker with independent cargo hold customized for Sargeant Marine, the world’s largest asphalt supplier. The ship owner has high requirements in terms of fuel economy, velocity and vibration of the ship. Nanjing High Accurate cooperated with domestic research institutions for overall optimization of the propeller system and comprehensive ship type, as well as equipping the propeller with cap fins and energy saving devices. The propeller designed by Nanjing High Accurate passed open water testing, self-propulsion testing, cavitation testing and other series of model experimental verifications with various testing results meeting all design requirements. The most influential maritime event of the year was held from December 1 to December 4, 2015 in Shanghai New International Expo Center: the 18th Marintec China. Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of NGC Marine Group, participated in the expo with General Manager Chen Yongdao leading the sales and technical teams to communicate and negotiate with global customers and partners.

Marintec China is esteemed as the �?st Exhibition in Asia and 2nd Globally�?in terms of marine affairs, and is held by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China and Shanghai Municipal People"s Government biennially. The ground area of this marine affairs exhibition was over 70,000m2, with the event itself attracting over 2,000 enterprises from 34 countries and regions, such as Germany, Norway, Japan, South Korea and China. Professional audiences numbered over 60,000 attendees.

As a high-quality domestic supplier of power transmission system for vessels, NGC Marine Group primarily presented propulsion and transmission system for vessels, side propellers, rudder propellers and self-elevating platform lifting gear boxes amongst other projects, each of which received significant attention. This was especially true of the rudder propeller products, which attracted a vast number of staff from shipyards and design companies for inquiry at the booth. Some internationally renowned companies also attended to see our technical level and production capacities as well as to offer their praise for the rapid development and achievement made by NGC Marine Group in recent years.

Rudder propellers are widely applied to special vessels and maritime works due to their fine operability and others, including semi-submerged maritime platform, self-propulsion lift platform, wind power service vessels, semi-submerged cargo ships, semi-submerged floating cranes, expedition vessels, exploration ships, lifting pipe-laying ships and tugs at port, and other facilities.

In recent years, NGC Marine Group has independently researched, developed and completed the design and trial-manufacturing of the NRP series of rudder products. Hundreds of products have been successfully delivered for practical use with maximum single steering power of 6000HP. Many patents have likewise been obtained for products, with performance leading the domestic industry. NGC products have been replacing foreign brands in some major products in some countries and are now exported to overseas markets. The 10 �?2T Series Towing-Tension Full Rotation Tugs�?and 20 other sets of rudder propeller systems manufactured by the company have been listed under ABS classifications in the United States and are now being delivered. They will be ultimately exported overseas.

On October 29, Xu Ming, member of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress and Vice Governor, accompanied by Li Shigui, member of the Municipal Standing Committee and Secretary of the District Committee as well as district leaders Gao Dechen and Zhang Huiqi, visited Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment (“Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment�?, a subsidiary company of NGC Marine Group together with directors of relevant government departments to carry out in-depth investigation and research on the development of marine equipment enterprises and the construction of marine economy demonstration projects.

Chen Yongdao, General Manager of NGC Marine Group, reported to Xu Ming and his party the overall operation and development plans of Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment. He noted that in recent years, through continuous improvements in product quality, technological levels, and the quality of its service, Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment has been making stable efforts to create a globally leading brand of large-scale marine equipment supporting enterprise. As a national high-tech enterprise, the Company now has a series of marine products with intellectual property rights and currently has design and production capacity of an annual 700 sets of propellers, gearboxes and other marine products.

Xu Ming noted that under the current conditions of a general downturn domestically and internationally in the shipbuilding industry, the fundamental reason behind Nanjing High Accurate Marine’s good momentum of development is the company"s commitment to technological innovation and uncovering of brand value.

NGC Successfully Transforms Propulsion System with Fixed Pitch Propellers Driven by Low-speed Diesel Engine into a System with Adjustable Pitch Propellers

Recently, the research ship Xiangyanghong 28 successfully passed its sea trial. The propulsion system with fixed pitch propellers was transformed into a propulsion system with adjustable pitch propellers by Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “NGC Marine�?, a subsidiary of NGC, which satisfies the low-speed sailing requirements for scientific investigations.

With 74.55 m in length and 10 m in width, the research ship Xiangyanghong 28 was driven by two low-speed diesel engines, which were manufactured in the 1970s. Such engines were connected to the thrust bearing and the fixed pitch propellers with the pneumatic tube clutch. The original shafting vibrated violently in operation, and the torque transmission capacity of the pneumatic tube clutch decreased. Following repeated demonstrations and analysis with the owner and the manufacturer as well as field investigations, NGC Marine determined to reserve the original engines, and replaced the pneumatic tube clutch with a gearbox with a built-in hydraulic clutch and thrust bearing. In addition, a high-elastic shaft coupling was installed between the gearbox and the engine. In order to satisfy low-speed sailing during scientific investigations, the fixed pitch propellers were replaced by adjustable propellers. With the advantages of low cost, high efficiency, and less transformation work, this solution was accepted by the owner and the manufacturer. Meanwhile, NGC Marine designed a new oil distributor for small-sized adjustable propellers, which successfully resolved a series of technical issues existing in space layout and hydraulic oil supplies for pitch adjustment, and passed the strict ex-factory pitch adjustment test.

With many parts remaining unchanged, the propulsion system was transformed in a tight schedule with great difficulty. The transformation even involved complicated and arduous field installation and configuration. NGC Marine not only prepared various solutions for issues that may occur in the process of field installation and configuration, but also instructed the manufacturer to resolve existing problems in a timely manner. During the sea trial, the research ship Xiangyanghong 28 achieved low-speed sailing, while the highest speed remained close to the original speed. Violent vibrations of the original shafting were effectively resolved, and the torsion vibration test was successfully passed. Successful Sea Trial of the Main Propulsion System Provided by NGC for Leading Ship of 8000HP Deepwater Towing/Anchor Handling/Supply Vessel (Marine Oil 641)

The sea trial of the 8000HP deepwater towing/anchor handling/supply vessel (marine oil 641) was recently commenced. The main propulsion system was designed and produced by Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of NGC Marine. The trial voyage over many days showed that the performance and velocity of the main propulsion system satisfied vessel design requirements. The bollard pull test conducted at the Huangchuan Wharf in the Nansha Islands attested to the fact that the bollard pull was greater than vessel design requirements under 100% MCR power. With the propeller and axles of the main propulsion system running smoothly and the pitch-controllable precision reaching internationally advanced levels, the sea trail achieved complete success and received the positive acknowledgement of the owner. The vessel was successfully delivered on June 19, 2015.

An 8000HP deepwater towing/anchor handling/supply vessel is one category out of 5 types of 14 ships under construction by China Oilfield Services, among which two were simultaneously constructed by Cosco Shipyard in 2014. In addition, domestic propulsion systems were first applied in China Oilfield Services vessels. To facilitate the vessel better achieving the need to fulfill new marine tasks, the main propulsion system adopts the double controllable-pitch propeller with a fairwater structure and 4 medium-speed diesel engines.

Designed by SDARI, 8000HP deepwater towing/anchor handling/supply vessel features long axles and stern tubes. The propulsion system is equipped with four engines and two propellers with high demands for velocity and bollard pull. NGC Marine matches the main engine and propeller based on performance requirements and theoretical propeller design so as to satisfy the requirements of velocity and bollard pull. Furthermore, to reduce vibration and vacuole of the propellers, proper disk ratio, screw pitch value and blade tip are considered and selected, with axles and other factors taken into full consideration in regard to specific applications for 32m long axles, so as to achieve stable axle operations. The main propulsion system provided by NGC Marine observes European standard has passed pre-delivery unified test with relevant frocks, reduced equipment failure rates and improved product quality reliability.

The main propulsion system for the marine oil 641 vessel provided by NGC Marine was approved and well received by the owner, attesting to the fact that domestic propulsion systems have risen to the level of high-end ship accessories and have broken up the monopolies of overseas top-grade ship equipment sales.

NGC Receives Export Order for 10 Tugboat Azimuth Thrusters

Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. (High Accurate Marine), a subsidiary of NGC Marine Group, recently received an export order for 20 sets of azimuth thruster propulsion system for ten �?2T bollard pull azimuth tugboats�?registered by American Bureau of Shipping. The contract for this order amounts to nearly RMB 40 million. The main propulsion system of the ASDs tugboat is composed of Caterpillar CAT3512C diesel engines and High Accurate Marine’s NRP180 azimuth thrusters. High Accurate Marine is overseeing the propulsion system assembly with the exception of the main engines. The propulsion system control system utilizes PLC as the main control component and touch screen as the terminal equipment, integrating functions of main engine remote control, thruster remote control, clutch control and protection of propulsion systems. System reliability is significantly improved by single-handle control sweeping-oars and two sets of mutually independent remote control systems. In terms of structural design: High Accurate Marine adopts an external hydraulic clutch to reduce the stern weight of the azimuth thruster and improve the stability of this compact ASDs tugboat while also ensuring high performance. Top assembling installation is adopted for safe and convenient maintenance, applying a closed hydraulic steering system with a steering speed of 12s/180 degrees, efficient thrust-augmenting nozzle and bollard pull up to 42T. There is also the ability of two-stage joint exhaust that ensures comfort in operation of the ASD tugboat.

By virtue of its excellent operation, azimuth thrusters are widely used in special boats and marine fields, such as semi-submersible marine platforms, self-propulsion lifting platforms, wind power service vessels, semi-submersible heavy transport vessels, semi-submersible crane vessels, scientific investigation vessels, research and exploration vessels, heavy lift cable layer vessels, and port tugboats. Although the special boats and marine platforms built by China in recent years have accounted for more than half of those all over the world, and the azimuth thruster is in huge demand, the core components of azimuth thrusters are mostly imported and only a very few low-powered azimuth thrusters are domestically produced. High-powered azimuth thrusters are mostly dominated by foreign producers, such as Japan’s NIIGATA and Europe’s SCHOTTEL, ROLLS-ROYCE and Wartsila.

Based on the market conditions for azimuth thrusters, after years of effort, High Accurate Marine has completed design, trial production and use of new products of NRP series azimuth thrusters, with a maximum power of a single azimuth thruster reaching 6000HP. Azimuth thruster products have obtained 23 patents, including 5 invention patents. Through provincial technical appraisal, the products are absolutely able to substitute imported goods. Enjoying a domestic leading level of performance, the products have become high-tech products of Jiangsu province and have won provincial and municipal scientific and technical awards, including the Gold Award of Excellent New Products in Jiangsu Province and First Prize for Scientific and Technological Advancement in Machinery Industry in Jiangsu Province. The products have been identified as first major equipment products, selected as industrialization demonstration projects as part of a national torch plan, and obtained special funding from relevant department.

The company has thus far won an order of NRP series constant pitch azimuth thruster totaling more than 200 million in amount, with quantity exceeding 150 sets. The annual order quantity this year is expected to exceed 120 million. From January to April, the order quantity had already surpassed 50 million. At present, azimuth thrusters are widely used in port tugboats, scientific investigation vessels, marine platforms, semi-submersible vessels and wind power service vessels. In terms of port tugboats, it has entered into cooperation with large and medium-sized ports, including Nantong Port, Yantai Port, Shanghai Fuxing Port, Yingkou Port, Jiangyin Port and Yangzhou Port. In terms of marine platforms, 5 platform propulsion systems have come into service which turns out to be very effective. In terms of propulsion systems, integration tests have been conducted for several actual ships with electric propulsion systems.

In order to further meet market demand, High Accurate Marine has further developed new products related to deck combination azimuth thrusters, lifting azimuth thrusters, pair-oars azimuth thrusters, and hybrid compact azimuth thrusters that are based on the propulsion systems of well azimuth thrusters, successfully sold them to southeast Asian markets and increasing customer bases. This has injected new vitality into the development of the company, improved China’s core competencies in vessels and marine equipment, and promoted industrial optimization and upgrading.

NGC Receives Order for Gearbox of World’s Largest Cutter Suction Dredger

The world’s largest non-self-propelled cutter suction dredger, also known as the world’s largest cutter suction dredger, will feature gearboxes provided by NGC Marine used to transfer power for inboard dredge pump, underwater dredge pump, and underwater reamer. The dredger was designed by the Marine Design and Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It is now under construction by Jiangsu Haixin Shipping Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. The gearbox order was signed in March 2015, and two dredgers are involved.

The two 6,500 m3 dredgers will be equipped with 2 inboard dredge pump gearboxes, 1 underwater dredge pump gearbox and 1 underwater reamer gearbox. Input power of the inboard dredge pump gearbox will be 6,000 kW and the largest output torque will reach 197 kN.m. The underwater reamer gearbox offers dual input and single output, with the input power of 2 ×2,600 kW and the largest output torque of 180 kN.m. The unit can operate in up to 25 m of water with an inclination of 65��. This is also true of the dual input and single output, with input power of 2×2,600 kW and the largest output torque of 1655 kN.m. Weighing 220 t, it works with an inclination of 65��. The NGC gearbox is anticipated to be delivered in October 2015.

In the field of dredgers, NGC has already delivered 3,500 m3, 4,500 m3, 5,000 m3 and 6,000 m3 series driving gearboxes for cutter suction dredgers. As evaluated by the industrial experts and competent authorities, the JDTS1350 underwater reamer gearbox is recognized as the first set of heavy equipment in Jiangsu province, and this indicates that independent development in dredging equipment by NGC over many years has gained market recognition.

Upon delivery, the dredgers will be operated in the South China Sea and Middle Eastern waters.

Propellers Exported by NGC to Malaysia Pass FMEA and Dynamic Positioning Testing

Recently, the controllable pitch propeller system and the fore and aft side thrusters produced by NGC Marine Group’s subsidiary - Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd., (“NGC Marine�?below) for the 61.8-meter AHTS of a Malaysian customer successfully passed sea trials, the FMEA test and dynamic positioning sea trials. This dynamic propulsion system is the first set of controllable pitch propeller propulsion systems exported by NGC Marine to Malaysia, and the success of the sea trials marks the successful entry of NGC products into the Malaysian offshore boat market, further expanding the market of NGC products to Southeast Asia.

The 61.8-meter AHTS is a typical anchor handling tug supply engineering vessel. With a heavy draught of 4.5 M, this vessel is designed with double engines and propellers and equipped with 2 fore side thrusters and 1 aft side thruster. With a high degree of automation, it must satisfy the requirements of DP2 and FMEA. The design requirements incorporated into this project include the demand that under conditions of standard sea conditions and a full load 100% MCR, the vessel can steer at the speed of 13 knots and the bollard pull is up to 70 tons. Results of the test of the actual vessel show that the speed and bollard pull of this vessel exceed the design requirements, and the shipowner speaks highly of the technology of the vessel propellers.

The designer of this vessel is MTX Design Institute of Singapore, and the shipyard is located in Malaysia. The sales and technical team of NGC Marine has participated in the technical negotiation, with technical guidance of on-site installation, sea trials and acceptance of the entire project. NGC Marine closely cooperated with the foreign design institute and shipyard during the implementation of this project. Through full and effective communication and cooperation, all difficulties of the project have been addressed during the design phase, laying a solid foundation for NGC Marine products to participate in the international competition and accumulating abundant experience. Although the delivery time of this vessel is pressing and the tasks involved in debugging were complicated and arduous, the after-sales service team of NGC Marine succeeded in their advanced sea trials and delivery thanks to their abundant debugging experiences of many years, overtime work, high quality products and efficient service. The shipowner profusely praised the product and service quality of NGC Marine. Through the success of this project, NGC Marine products have fully won the reputation and the trust of the Malaysian customer, and paved the way for internationalization of the design and after-sales service team of NGC Marine.

NGC Main Propulsion System Tested successfully During Trial Voyage of San Sha 1 Hao Traffic Supply Ship

On December 3, the main controllable pitch propeller system and tunnel thruster provided by subsidiary of NGC Marine Group-Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co, Ltd(NGC Marine) for “SanSha1 Hao�?traffic supply ship were tested successfully during sea trail. The ship will launch its maiden voyage on New Year"s Day of 2015.

The “SanSha 1 Hao�?traffic supply ship is 120m long and 20m wide, with displacement of 7800T, and maximum navigational speed of 19 knots. This ship is a ro-ro passenger ship which can carry passengers, ro-ro vehicles, and container trailers. The voyage from the Hainan Island to Sansha is reduced to 8 or 9 hours from an original 15 or 16 hours, and cargo capacity is increased 9-fold as compared to that of “Q(j��ng)iongsha No.3�? This ship is an important project following establishment of Sansha City. This ship sials between Hainan Island and Sansha Yongxing Island, navigating from opposite directions of “Q(j��ng)iongsha No.3�? and can provide more convenience for the military and public on Sansha Yongxing Island, which makes the vessels essential for solving the difficulties of traffic and supply between Hainan Island and Sansha Yongxing Island.

The ship’s propulsion system is configured with twin screws. The propeller shaft utilizes a three-bearing support structure, and the whole length of the shafts reach upwards of 23m. The ro-ro passenger ship has high demands in terms of navigational speed, vibration and comfort. During the trial voyage, all equipment supplied by NGC Marine met the related supply requirements. With its strong propeller and propulsion system design capacity, the navigational speed exceeded the requirements of ship owners. In addition, the vibration of the propulsion system is well controlled and assures the steady operation of the ship. The successful trial voyage for the “SanSha 1 Hao�?traffic supply ship fully proves that NGC Marine has outstanding propeller design standards and technical levels to optimally arrange ro-ro passenger ship shafts.

Nanjing High Accurate Marine: Progressive Consolidation and Efficient Advancement

The key technical R&D project of high-powered offshore propulsion system of NGC Gears Group subsidiary Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment was recently listed as a strategic emerging industry development project and industrialization demonstration project in Jiangsu for 2014. As part of this honor, high-powered offshore controllable pitch propeller propulsion system product additionally won the China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award. The successful research and development of this propulsion system is an important technical breakthrough realized in this field in China, which not only improves the self-design and production capacity of large-sized domestic thrusters and gearboxes, but also improves technical contents for domestic key marine equipment. It also lays a solid foundation of transformation, upgrading, integration, and development for our marine equipment.

Although the international financial crisis heavily influenced shipbuilding industry, the interests of Nanjing High Accurate Marine have nonetheless maintained annual growth of 10%. As the supplier of ship power system equipment, Nanjing High Accurate Marine has continued to improve upon existing products in terms of structure, performance, and quality, while expanding research, development and innovation. The NRP250 azimuth and JDTS1350 underwater reamer gearboxes from Nanjing High Accurate Marine have also been identified as the first major equipment (set) in Jiangsu, wherein the underwater reamer gearbox is completely independently designed. This has prompted the company to achieve a new level of research and development of the reamer transmission gearbox of large cutter suction dredges, and breaks through the restricted situation faced by the key technology of the reamer gearbox.

In June of this year, Nanjing High Accurate Marine was also successful in completing sea trials for dynamically positioned propulsion systems supporting the 65m AHTS of a Singapore company. Successful Sea Trial for NGC Lifting Gearbox on Ocean Platform

Complete success was achieved recently in sea trials and 90cm full-distance lifting test for the platform lifting gearbox manufactured by NGC Gears Group subsidiary Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment to be matched with 90m self-elevating platforms “De-sail No.2 DSME1202�?and “De-sail No.3 DSME1203�?supplied by Tianjing De-sail Machinery Equipment. The platform lifting gearbox was successfully delivered in Qingdao and Huludao. DSME1202 and DSME1203 living platforms are supported by four column-shaped spud legs. Every spud leg was supported and lifted by 7 pairs of 14 lifting gearboxes. This platform marks the first self-elevating platform with complete intellectual property rights and dynamic positioning function in China, achieving internationally advanced levels.

This 90m marine self-elevating platform is a self-elevating navigational aid platform applied to offshore oilfields. It can provide offshore workover rigs and ocean engineering construction service, and is equipped with functional areas such as living quarters. The platform is a square ship body, and the total length of the four spud legs is approximately 90m. The total length of the ship body is 78.8m, with molded length of 63.6m. Molded width is 40m and molded depth is 5.80m.

Nanjing High Accurate Marine participated in manufacturing the lifting gearbox in this project through reliance on its rich experience in designing and manufacturing major marine propulsion gearboxes and engineering ships transmission gearboxes, and completed the scheme design after communicating with ship owners and contractors. The design scheme fully considers the strength, weight, and installation of the lifting gearbox. In accordance with the multiple working conditions the equipment will face, the accurate service life and strength of the lifting gearboxes were designed using the power load spectrum, so as to guarantee the lightest possible weight of the gearbox while also ensuring strength. In addition, the gearbox further uses high-strength carburized and hardened gears and low-alloy and high-strength cast steel, providing the characteristics of high strength and light weight. NGC Successfully Completes Dynamic Positioning Sea Trials for Propulsion System Matched for Singapore Marine Ship

The design requirements of the project are that the thruster be capable of producing 90T of bollard pull power in standard sea conditions when the host power is 100%, with a maximum ship speed of 13Kn. After the sea trials were tested onboard, the bollard pull power of the ship was found to rise to 92T, and the ship speed rose to 13.4Kn. As the two most important design indexes of the anchor handling towing supply, the bollard pull power and the ship speed exceed the designed values. The project is highly automated and meets the requirements of DP2 and FMEA. The pitch time of the controllable propeller provided by Nanjing High Accurate Marine is short and the accuracy is high, so that the controllable propeller can perfectly work when matched with DP2 system, and the FMEA requirements can be perfectly met. The ship owner gives a good review.

NGC Marine Group JDTS1350 Underwater Cutter Head Gearbox Recognized as First Major Equipment (Set) of Jiangsu Province

Few days ago, the JDTS1350 underwater cutter head gearbox of Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of NGC Marine Group, was recognized as the first major equipment (set) of Jiangsu Province following a review by relevant authorities. This event indicated that the independent research efforts of Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. in the dredging equipment field have received full technological and market recognition. The First (Set) of Major Equipment and Key Components of Jiangsu Province Project was established by the Jiangsu Economic and Information Technology Commission. China’s Twelfth Five-Year Plan for the national development of the ocean economy proposed developments expectation for the shipping industry and marine engineering equipment manufacturing industry. The review panel unanimously agreed that the advanced equipment adopted state-of-the-art heat treatment methods and machining technology to guarantee the mechanical properties of key components such as the drive line, the safety factor of gear strength and a rich design lifespan. The application of modification technology for high-speed heavy-duty gears significantly improved the smoothness and transmission efficiency of gear engagement. Through a reasonable mechanical analysis, the vibration and deflection of the gearbox during operation reached its minimum. The design’s unique sealing form further improved the gearbox’s underwater pressure resistance. Meanwhile, relevant operation parameters of various electrical elements to the gearbox were under real-time monitoring to guarantee a safe and reliable system. The device has obtained three national utility model patent licenses and has applied for two invention patents to form a better intellectual property protection system. Its entire performance has reached, even exceeded, the level of international products. The device has also passed the new product and new technology appraisal of the Jiangsu Economic and Information Technology Commission and the Nanjing Economic and Information Technology Commission, receiving relevant certificates.

The First Successful Domestic Test Performed by NGC Marine for PTI Clutch of Ocean Surveillance Ship Gearboxes

Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd (NGC Marine) successfully performed benchmark testing for the soft engagement performance of the PTI clutch for the main propulsion gearbox of a large-sized ocean surveillance ship for the State Oceanic Administration (SOA) on April 25, 2014.

The marine main propulsion gearbox with PTI functions, characterized by its fuel savings, higher efficiency and higher navigation safety and reliability etc., can be used for free switching of motor or diesel engine as its power source, showing the advanced vessel propulsion mode. The PTI clutch is engaged at a rated speed (1500rpm for this project) and therefore the conditions are extremely severe. During the engagement, clutch disks can slip for a long period of time and lead to high temperature. This clutch is an important part for ensuring PTI functions. Considering the shock during clutch engagement, NGC Marine has developed “Hydraulic- electric�?control modules, realizing soft engagement and adjustable engagement time.

A high propeller rotary inertia and load under real ship simulations have been adopted for this test. Problems such as test benchmark capacity limits and high-speed data collection etc. have been solved by company management and technical support, and finally the test was successfully performed. During test, detailed dynamic data reading of soft engagement process have been collected; soft engagement functions of the PTI clutch have been verified effectively and out of which, important experiences have been accumulated for future projects with similar functions.

PTI function is currently an important developing direction for vessel propulsion systems. The successful testing has filled the gap in this particular technical field in China. NGC Marine has become the first propulsion manufacturer at home grasping the PTI soft engagement technology, providing powerful technical support for the domestic production of marine main propulsion equipment with similar functions.

Recently, Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. stood out competitively from foreign famous controllable propeller companies. It successfully won the bid of the controllable propeller system for 8000HP deep-sea AHTS of China Oilfield Services.

As a high-end customer in ocean engineering industry, China Oilfield Services runs with high performance offshore vessels, which have high requirements on performance and reliability of CPPs . In the past time, such equipment was monopolized by foreign manufacturers.

The two products are JDTS1350 underwater reamer gearboxes and NRP250 fixed pitch rudder propellers.

The appraisal meeting of the two products was held on 8 June, 2013 in Nanjing High Accurate Marine. Nanjing Economic and Information Technology Commission authorized by Jiangsu Economic and Information Technology Commission hosted the appraisal meeting. The identification Committee heard the product trial reports and technical summary report, and reviewed the product technical documents and watched the live demonstration of production,and then made discussion and approved the appraisal of the two products. They agreed that the technology of the two products have reached domestic advanced level.

JDTS1350 underwater reamer gearboxes are adopted advanced modification technology of gear spiral angle to make modification on gear load deformation and transmission shaft torsional deformation. They also applied techniques like twin-engine incorporation structure, mechanical seal combination, holding pressure tightness test etc., and can realize the rated power of 4000kW and the maximum torque of 4450kNm. The maximum working depth is 30m under seawater. The maximum pressure is 0.4MPa and the maximum working angle is 65��. In June, the dragon boat festival is coming while people can smell the scent of the reed leaves wafted in the air along the Mochou lakeside.It brought along the atmosphere of celebration and also bring a holiday to the people of China Transmission.That is the China Transmission’s Annual Dragon Boat Races.

On the morning of June 1st, China Transmission’s dragon boat races was held as expected in Mochou Lake. After a whole month’s tough training, 36 teams participating the races from all the departments of the Group company marched in with high spirit, which deeply impressed the Nanjing residents who came to watch. Till this time, China Transmission’s dragon boat races has been held for five times, and China Transmission showed its corporate spirit and promoted itself in each races. Every time, when the banner of China Transmission’s dragon boat races was hung outside the door of Mochou Park, tens of thousands of Nanjing residents came to watch. Recently, Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Nanjing High Accurate Drive Equipment Manufacturing Group Co., Ltd., (hereinafter referred to as High Accurate Marine) has made the complete propulsion system of 46m AHT (anchor handling tug) for a Singapore shipowner, including NCP68 controllable pitch propellers, NCT130 controllable pitch lateral thrusters, rudder system and CKV05007 YC adjustable paddle gearbox, of which the sea trial was successful .

46m AHT is equipped with double engines and oars, the owner of which is Singapore OCEANUS MARINA OFFSHORE PTE LTD, the classification societies is ABS, the engine power is 1920kW, and its propulsion system and accessories were supplied by High Accurate Marine, among which the diameter of adjustable pitch propeller is 2700mm.

The design requirements of the project are including that the thruster can produce 65T bollard pull and the ship speed reaches 12 knots under the conditions of the standard sea and 100% engine power. After the ship was on sea trial, the bollard pull of ship can meet the design requirements, and the speed can reach 14 knots, which is 12 knots more than design requirements, and the efficiency of economy and rapidity of the ship are greatly improved. The shipowner is very satisfied.

The successful sea trial of 46M AHT once again proves that High Accurate marine have the export capacity of both marine propellers and gearboxes, and the technology can reach the international advanced level.

On 16 April, 2013, Mr. HANS OLE CHRISTENSEN, the vice president of MAN DIESEL & TURBO, a diesel engine company from Denmark, came to visit Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as High Accurate Marine Co.), one of the subsidiaries of China High Speed Transmission Equipment Group Co., Ltd., along with Ms. Jin Xiaobo, the senior manager in China Office for MAN CO.. They were warmly received by Mr.Chen Yongdao, the general manager, and Mr. Lei Haining, the vice general manager of High Accurate Marine Co, and Mr. Wang Xiang, the general manager of Zhenjiang Tongzhou Propeller Co.

Mr. CHRISTENSEN first visited the workshops of the propeller system and gearboxes. He asked about the equipment capacity, the processing technology and quality standard of High Accurate Marine Co. After seeing the propeller product manufactured for MAN CO, he gave high recognition and appraisal for good quality of our marine products.

After the visit, the group had a deep conversation with Mr. Chen about retrospect and prospect of the cooperation in the marine market between both companies. Mr. Christensen indicated that since 2010 when MAN started to cooperate with China Transmission in controllable pitch propellers, the quality and service of product has been improving constantly. In the meantime, the people in MAN has been repeatedly sent to China Transmission for investigation and exchanges, which have received good feedback. As the vice president in charge of the global resource purchasing, he had much confidence in the future cooperation, especially after seeing the good quality of the product and site management with his own eyes.

NGC Offshore Platform Lifting Gearbox Passes the Certification of ABS New Rules

The overload test and disassembly inspection of Tianjin Desai offshore platform lifting gearbox were done with the witness of ship owner and ABS surveyor from January 25 to 26. The gearbox is designed and produced by Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd (NGC Marine Company).Under two times overload testing, all test result could satisfy the designing and load requirement, and were approved by ABS surveyor.This success is a practical breakthrough for NGC in offshore engineering equipment, and NGC also becomes the first manufacturer in the world, which passes the new type approval after the execution of new ABS rules regarding offshore engineering equipment (implementing on January 1st 2013).

This offshore platform lifting gearbox is designed with multiple-stage planetary structure, and is featured with large speed ratio, super large torque and large modulus, etc. This type of gearbox belongs to offshore petroleum jack-up transmission equipment, which is designed and produced abroad, and is also included into the range of Twelfth Five Plan in aspects of high end equipment manufacturing industry. NGC Large CP Propulsion System Passed the Sea Trial

Recently, 17500LT crude oil tanker, built by Jiangsu Sainty Ship Building Co., Ltd had its trial run in Zhoushan sea area. During the test, the main propulsion system was operated normally, and the speed exceeded the designed requirement. The shipyard and ship owner gave a very high recognition to the test result. The main engine of this ship was MAN 9L32/40, and power system was designed with “one drives two�?arrangement, i.e. the CP propeller and shaft generator were driven by the gearbox. The whole power system, except the main engine, including gearbox, CP propeller, propulsion shaft line, tunnel thruster, shaft generator, remote control system of main engine, etc was designed and produced by Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd (“NGC Marine�?.

This was the first case for a domestic CPP Manufacturer that realized the matching of CP propeller with MAN 32/40 diesel engine, in addition, the integrated design, installation and commissioning of this type of diesel engine and CPP control system were also done in China for the first time. Meanwhile, this was the biggest CPP system that a domestic CPP manufacturer produced for the large commercial vessel. The success of this ship indicated that the technical level of NGC Marine was leading in China, and of the same level as equivalent product in international market.

NGC Side Winch Gearbox was Installed in 揟ianlin?Dredger of CCCC Tianjin Dredging Company

Recently, two units of side winch gearboxes designed and produced by Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of NGC Group were installed in 揟ianlin?cutter dredger for sea trial. During the whole process, the gearboxes were running well. This dredger would be put into use in October, 2012.

揟ianlin?cutter dredger

This side winch gearbox for揟ianlin攃utter dredger is typed as MJ100_003, two units in total. Two gearboxes are arranged symmetrically in the left and right. The weight of single unit is 60T, with maximum output torque at 2000kN�? The housing has been optimized with ANSYS software, and the rigidity and deformation are both under control. The gearbox is equipped with lubrication and cooling system, and the lubrication system is driven by the electric motor pump, which is featured with low noise, low vibration and stable pressure. All lubricating pipes are mounted inside the housing, and is very assembly/disassembly friendly. A heater is built into the gearbox, which can heat up the lubricant to the required temperature in a short time.

揟ianlin?cutter dredger is a large non-propeller dredger with rock dredging capability, which is co-developed by Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd and Shanghai Jiaotong University. The dredger was started to build in the beginning of 2008 in Qindao Qianjin Shipyard, put into use in October, 2009, and was re-built in the beginning of 2012. The side winch gearbox is responsible for the side movement of the whole hull during operation, is also the key components of this rebuilt job. The working efficiency of the dredger relies on the performance of the gearbox. NGC MJ100_003 type side winch gearbox is designed with excellent performance, which has won high comments from the users. The company is very strong in the package supply of dredging equipment, including power system and the gearbox, such as under water cutter gearbox, dredging pump gearbox, etc. The successful sea trial of 揟ianlin?is a good demonstration of NGC�?power in dredging industry.

The civilization office of party central committee publicize “National Civilization Unit Assessment System (Trial)�? which used 13 large projects and 50 detailed construction duties as the standard and in this system, it was clearly stated the accurate guidance and specific arrangement. On 2ed, September, NGC youth volunteers gave up their break time to serve in Yuhuatai Martyrs" Cemetery for 3 days. The theme of activity was “Million people relay of civilized unit�? The activity was initiated by Nanjing Civilization Office, and participated by the civilized units in the city. Service locations included park, square, main/secondary road, bus station, street and other corners; the service contents included cleaning, transportation guide, and persuasion civilization and so on. Technical program of the replacement of CPP for “Xiangyanghong 06”Scientific Research Vessel passed the verification of expert Group

The investigation meeting regarding the technical program of CPP replacement for “Xiangyanghong 06�?scientific research vessel was held in Nanjing, dated from August 28 to 29, 2012. The meeting was presided by Yan Zeding, the vice chief engineer of CSSC Chengxi Shipyard Co., Ltd, attending with the engineers from North China Sea Branch of State Oceanic Administration, Shanghai Jiahao Ship Designing Co., Ltd, CCS Nanjing, CCS Chengxi Shipyard and Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd.

As the CPP supplier of this project, Chen Yongdao, the general manager of Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd.(NGC Marine Company) made a simple introduction of the company and expressed NGC people’s determination and confidence to complete this project. Xu Xiansheng the vice director of North China Sea Branch of State Oceanic Administration introduced the operation condition of the ship, and NGC marine technical department made a report to the experts in the aspects of system designing, components selection, structural designing, FEA calculation, alignment and vibration calculation, hydraulic remote control system and approval suggestion of Society, etc.

This is a renovation to an old ship that is to transform the box-type cargo ship to scientific research ship. The research ship need to do the observation at the low speed: 0-6 knots, and the original fixed pitch propeller can not satisfy this requirement; therefore, the ship owner requested to change the FPP to CPP to satisfy the operation condition. Based on the original arrangement, the CPP would be driven by 4-cylinder low speed engine, and the shaft span is very short, and there is no gearbox and flexible coupling, therefore, the torsional vibration stress of the system is very big, which brings lots of trouble to the new designing. One domestic CPP supplier tried to do this job in 2011, however, it failed because the torsional vibration stress can not meet the requirement of Classification Society.

To finish the job, NGC marine engineers had done lots of preparation. First, to change the structure of oil distribution shaft to improve the allowed stress; second, to apply the latest international designing philosophy into the shaft arrangement to optimize the designing, and together with the application of 5-blade propeller and large pressure middle bearing seat, the shaft vibration problem produced by 4-cylinder low speed engine was removed. To get a reliable program, NGC invited DNV for technical support. Via calculation, DNV considered that the designing program of NGC Marine Company is free of vibration problem, only to set a barred-speed range within the relative speed range. In addition, to guarantee the program is free of risk, according to CCS’s requirement, NGC Marine Company also invited the experts from MAN to do the calculation and assessment to the torsional vibration stress of crank shaft, and this expert confirmed completely that the torsional stress is totally in conformity with MAN Standard. At present, the drawings and calculation had been approved by CCS.

After the detailed report of NGC engineers, the experts group made a complete communication and discussion with NGC designing team regarding some technical points, and they gave high comments to the efforts and achievement NGC Marine Team had made. Based on the verification of DNV and MAN experts, and the approved drawing and calculation from CCS, they thought the program was qualified to the production.

In the meeting, Shu Yongdao, vice general manager of NGC Marine Company gave his thanks to the great support of every party. Even the project was of big difficulties, and was the first try in China, NGC had made initial achievement in designing, and in the production period, NGC would control the quality and schedule strictly to ensure that the product can meet the requirement during the operation.

In the end, Yan Zeding and representatives of ship owner gave high appreciation to NGC’s efforts, and put forward further requirement to the later job.

NGC Marine System Serves to 8000M3 Hopper Dredger

Recently, marine power system equipments (including 2 sets of controllable pitch propellers, 2 units of propulsion gearboxes and tunnel thruster) and 2 units of dredger pump gearboxes, manufactured by Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd (“NGC Marine Company�?, a wholly subsidiary of Nanjing High Accurate Transmission Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd (“NGC�? were installed in 8000m3 “Xinghangjun 2�?hopper dredger and passed the sea trial. After a series of tests, like over load test, engine-propeller combined adjusting test, navigation speed test, dredging test, it is proved NGC products were running at good condition. The clients and surveyor gave very high opinions to our products.

The dredging pump gearbox of “Xinghangjun 2�?is typed as NB1050, which is designed with welded vertical offset arrangement (input side is on top, output side is in bottom) and double speed, therefore, the switch from dredging to rain bowing condition can be done via the shifter. The gearbox is equipped with cooler and lubrication system. The switch of different conditions (different ratios) can be done by hand or remote control. The output power of low speed is 1100Kw, and the output speed is 217r/min, which is suitable for dredging; and the output power of high speed is 3300Kw, and the output speed is 337r/min, which is suitable for rain bowing. The diameter of CP propeller is 4370mm, the diameter of middle shaft is 280mm, and the shaft diameter of propeller is 360mm, which is able to satisfy the local control, ECR control and wheel house control, with angle locking function to each control mode. The main propulsion gearbox is typed as CKV08505YCPTOC with input torque at 71625N.m

First NGC Submerged Cutter-head Gearbox Successfully Put into Use

In the end of 2011, Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd, a wholly subsidiary of NGC successfully developed out the first submerged cutter head gearbox. This gearbox was installed in “Hua Hang Jun�?6000m3/h cutter dredger, and was put into use since March, 2012.

The vigorous development of the dredging market, driven by the requirement of large-scale vessel and port and deep channel, also increases the need for dredging gearboxes. Cutter dredger, regarded as the key ship types in dredging vessels takes up more than 60% of the total amount of dredgers. NGC grasps this important developing opportunity to push the R & D of transmission equipment for cutter dredger, and has acquired great achievement.

The first NGC cutter head gearbox is powered at 2×2000kW, with reduction ratio at 33 and weight at 80T, and is able to work at 30m under water with maximum work angle at 60��. The cutter gearbox has run for more than 4 months since the sea trial, and among which, over 1 month is non-stop running. It is proved that the gearbox is running well and has received high comments from clients. High Accurate Marine Company got an order of tunnel thruster for 8000KW ocean salvage vessel

Nanjing High Accurate Marine Equipment Co., Ltd (High Accurate Marine Company), a subsidiary of NGC signed a contract with Ministry of Transport regarding bow/stern thrusters of three 8000KW ocean salvage vessels, i.e. 9 units of NCT165 controllable pitch tunnel thrusters in total.

The missions of ocean salvage vessel are to rescue the people from the vessels in danger and to help the vessels with the purpose of ship salvage, and other salving operation, such as towing, fire fighting, and so on; what’s more, they are capable of night search, hatch sealing, leak stoppage, water discharging, air diving, etc as well. One of these three vessels in the order is featured with ice breaking.

Before this, the tunnel thruster for the domestic ocean salvage vessels were all imported. This contract broke the monopoly of equivalent foreign products in domestic ocean salvage market.

NCT CP Tunnel thruster

High Accurate Marine Company is an advanced company in Asia, which is specialized in R & D, manufacturing and service of marine transmission and propulsion system. The high skew of blade increases the disc ratio of blade, and decrease the possibility of cavitation, noise and vibration to the minimum; reduce the tip clearance to enhance the propulsion efficiency of the propeller in the premise of abundant tunnel strength and space of blade disassembly/assembly; the spiral bevel gears are manufactured to Class ISO-4 in house; the bearings of high quality and long life time are a good warrant to the accuracy of gear meshing; the blade and hub are produced from nickel aluminum bronze, and the drive shaft and gear are made of high quality alloy steel, which assured the product quality.

The series of vertical reducers with three stages made by High Accurate Company is the first example in China. It has independent intellectual property rights. Zhenjiang Tongzhou Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of China Transmission, converged the elites of propeller manufacturing, designing and management domains, and appraised as Jiangsu High-tech enterprise. Since the origination of Tongzhou Company, adhering to the independent innovation and cooperative development, it has been growing quickly and its products have won the trust from the clients both at home and abroad. Till today, Tongzhou has produced over 3000 pieces of FPP, 600 sets of CPP. On August 28th, 2009, China Transmission invested 255million for the technological transformation of Tongzhou Company. Since the trial production in the new workshop at the end of last year, Tongzhou has delivered over 10 sets of propellers for 47500DWT�?2000DWT�?76000DWT vessels etc. Covering a wide range and large size, the marine propulsion system of China Transmission is able to be supplied as a turnkey package. China Transmission owns the independent intellectual property and core technology for all marine products, and has been approved by nine classification societies. The core components are all manufactured at home and the raw materials are supplied by the subsidiary of China Transmission, and its quality has been certified by GE America. The company has also built up an international marketing & service net.

In the ceremony, Mr. Chen Yongdao, the Chairman of Zhenjiang Tongzhou Propeller Co., Ltd, on behalf of all Tonzhounese, expressed his thankfulness to the attendants. He also pointed out that Tongzhou is capable of producing 6000T FPP and 600 sets of CPP per year, and the weight of single piece arrives to 100T with the diameter at 11m. Right now a big order of nearly 50 sets of large propellers has already got.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hu Yueming, the Chairman of China Transmission addressed a speech, he advanced to challenge the world top companies. Mr. Li Xiaoping, the vice mayor of Zhenjiang stated that the Zhenjiang government will upgrade the service function and efficiency to help the company become stronger and stronger. China High Speed Transmission Equipment Group Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as China Transmission) was listed in Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2007, and ranked among top 100 of China Machinery industry. It is able to design and manufacture marine propulsion and transmission equipment (incl. electric control and hydraulic system), including CPP, FPP, tunnel thruster, azimuth thruster, and various marine main/supported gearbox, shaft line, hydraulic coupling, stern tube components and different kinds of non-standard marine gearbox, winches, etc. With annual capacity of 400 sets of CPP system, China Transmission grows to be one of the largest marine propulsion system companies in China. Zhenjiang Company has gained 2 patents for invention and 5 patents for utility models, and has been certified as hi-tech enterprise. Till now, more than 3000 pieces of FPP and 600sets of CPP have been manufactured and delivered. In August, 2009, China Transmission purchased Zhenjiang company at the price of RMB255 million, and built a new workshop in Zhenjiang to work together with the original Zhenjiang Company People to develop large type marine propellers. The total area of this new workshop is nearly 80000 square meters, and the construction area is about 33000 square meters.

After over one year’s construction, the new workshop of Tongzhou Company has been completed and put into operation. The largest and advanced machining equipments have been installed inside the workshop, such as 125tons cranes, medium frequency electric furnace (melting capacity per time: 125tons), large boring machine, 8m CNC vertical lathe, large CNC machine center for FPP and CPP, 16m CNC horizontal lathe, 11m 3-coordinate digital display pitch meter and large hydraulic balancing apparatus, etc. This workshop is able to produce more than 6000 tons of FPP, 100 sets of shaft lines and 400 sets of CPP per year (the weight of single piece is 100 tons, and diameter is 11m). A new large propeller manufacturer comes into being in China.

There are more than 10 propeller factories in China, but most market shares are taken up by few foreign companies. With the advanced hardware equipment and technology equivalent to or better than abroad, the new Zhenjiang Company will change the monopoly situation of foreign brands in China. Depending on the financial support of China Transmission and the advantages of brands and independent IP of marine propulsion system, Zhenjiang Company grows to be the pride of the domestic propeller manufacturing industry, and the international high-class propeller manufacturer.
